(Guyana) East Bank Demerara Accident

Five persons were Sunday night injured when the car they were travelling in ran off the Coverden, East Bank Demerara road and slammed into a culvert. One of them was said to be in a critical condition. They were all rushed to the nearby Diamond Diagnostic Centre and two were later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC). Firefighters were summoned and assisted in rescuing the quartet from the mangled Toyota Allion, PNN 2460. Preliminary indications are that the car was speeding north along the East Bank Demerara Road with the occupants who were said to have been returning from an ‘outing’ at the creek. Those injured are Marvin Ray and Lancelot Rose, who were referred to the GPHC, Odessa Ray, Faith Evelyn and Andrew Watson. The Rays are from South Ruimveldt, Evelyn is from Mocha and Rose is from Meadowbrook. (Demerarawaves)
