The Situation MTV Warned Him for YEARS -- Stop Being a Drunk Mess!!!

MTV had threatened to replace The Situation on "Jersey Shore" many times over the past two years due to his excessive drinking -- sources connected with the production tell TMZ. According to sources, producers from MTV and 495 Productions sat Situation down for the first time while shooting Season 2 in 2010 -- explaining his drinking had become such a problem ... it was making it hard to shoot the show. We're told Sitch promised to pull himself together -- but it quickly unraveled during Season 3, and producers had to speak with him again ... this time threatening to replace him on the show if he didn't clean up his act. Sitch agreed again -- and made a concerted effort to reel in his bad habits between Seasons 3 and 4. We're told Situation showed promise in Italy during Season 4, but once the crew got back to the States ... he was back to his old ways. This prompted another sit-down ... and another threat of recasting. Now, MTV's got the opposite problem -- Situation's in rehab and sobering up completely. As a result, sources tell us 495 Productions is looking for new castmates to add to the show ... in the hopes of phasing Sitch out entirely. We reached out to MTV for comment ... which insists, "There are no plans to replace the cast of 'Jersey Shore.'" TMZ

Man saws off own foot to continue receiving unemployment benefits

It sounds like the plot of a boring "Saw" film, but it's apparently all-too-real. An unemployed Austrian man cut off his own foot with a mitre saw so he could continue receiving jobless benefits. Hans Url, a 56-year-old from Mitterlabill, then took the foot and cooked it in the oven so doctors could not reattach it. "The planning was meticulous," Franz Fasching, a police spokesman, told the Daily Mail. "[Url] waited until his wife and his adult son had left the house and he was alone. He then switched it on and sliced off his left foot above the ankle--throwing it in the fire so it would not be possible to reattach it before he called emergency services." He "then made his way to the garage where he called emergency services and waited for them to arrive." Url was airlifted to a hospital in Graz, where he was put in an artificial coma so doctors could stabilize him. "The foot was too badly burned to reattach," a hospital spokesman said. "All we could do was seal the wound. He had lost a lot of blood--he almost died on the way to hospital." According to the Austrian Times, Url had complained before the incident that he was too sick to work and "didn't like the work he was offered." The kicker: according to the paper, being footless does not necessarily qualify Url for unemployment compensation. "He will be assessed once he is out of hospital and we will see what work we can find for him," Hermann Gössinger, a spokesman for the employment benefits office, said.

US soldier accused of killing 16 Afghans during a killing spree.

Neighbors of a Washington state man accused of gunning down 16 Afghan women and children in a nighttime rampage describe him as a family man who was "just one of the guys." Reporters swarmed a neighborhood in a rural, wooded community about 35 miles south of Seattle, as attorney John Henry Browne confirmed the suspect, his client, was Army Staff Sgt. Robert Bales from Lake Tapps, Wash. "I just can't believe Bob's the guy who did this," said Paul Wohlberg, a next-door neighbor who said his family was friendly with the Bales family. "A good guy got put in the wrong place at the wrong time. ... I never thought something like this would happen to him." Wohlberg described Bales as a "good guy — just one of the guys." Five days after the shooting, a senior U.S. official first confirmed Friday it was Bales, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the investigation into an incident that has roiled relations with Afghanistan. Military officials had said throughout the week that it was policy not to release the name until charges were filed.

Clooney and his dad were arrested for crossing a police line ... which is a misdemeanor offense. Clooney was leading a protest in front of the Sudanese embassy in D.C. when he was hauled away by secret service agents.

Clooney's publicist Stan Rosenfield tells TMZ, "They were protesting the violence committed by the government of Sudan on its own innocent men, women and children. They were demanding they allow humanitarian aid into the country before it becomes the largest humanitarian crisis in the world." Sources connected with George tell us he feels good about the arrest because it puts the spotlight on the crisis. The NBA’s trade deadline came and went, scattering players across the league, and when the dust finally settled, Kobe Bryant stood alone. Derek Fisher, who came into the league with Bryant and won five championships alongside him, was cast off to the Houston Rockets. Of the core group that helped the Los Angeles Lakers win three consecutive titles from 2000 to 2002, only Bryant now remains with the franchise. Luke Walton, Bryant’s teammate for the past nine seasons, also was sent away on deadline day, shipped to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a package for Ramon Sessions. Yet if the Lakers cut through the nostalgia and block out the faded memories of those title runs – and that won’t be easy – they should like what they see. They’re a better team now than a week ago, not only for what they did at the trade deadline, but also what they didn’t: Pau Gasol still wears a Lakers uniform. So does Andrew Bynum. No, they didn’t land Dwight Howard, but no one else did, either. More than anything, the Lakers needed an upgrade at point guard. Sessions isn’t Chris Paul but he’s athletic, and that still counts for something in this league. He averaged 10.5 points, 5.2 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 24.3 minutes while backing up rookie Kyrie Irving this season with the Cavs. “I’m excited,” Lakers coach Mike Brown said. “He’s a young, athletic point guard who can play the pick-and-roll. He brings energy.” That’s not to say the Lakers won’t miss Fisher at times. He’s battle-tested and he’s a leader who always seemed to strike the right tone in the locker room. But with Sessions arriving, the Lakers also considered the 37-year-old Fisher something else: expendable. The Lakers, who gave up their own 2012 first-round pick in the Sessions trade, surrendered the first-rounder they received from the Dallas Mavericks in the Lamar Odom deal when they sent Fisher to the Rockets for forward Jordan Hill. Hill gives the Lakers some depth at the frontcourt positions.

Man Faces Charges After Signing Dog Up to Vote.

A New Mexico man who registered his dog to vote in an apparent attempt to expose flaws in the electoral system may face prosecution. A Bernalillo County official told KOB-TV Thursday that regardless of his intentions, the unnamed dog owner had broken the law. Buddy, a black Labrador, received a voter registration card in the mail after his owner applied with a made-up birth date and Social Security number. The man, who told KOB-TV he had no intention of actually voting under his dog's name, said the registration was processed and accepted by the county clerk's office. County clerk Maggie Toulouse Oliver called his actions "disheartening," as well as illegal. "I would warn those individuals who think this type of activity is a joke or a 'gotcha' that, regardless of their intentions, they have broken the law and will therefore have to be subject to due process of law," she said.

Angry Father Bites Off 6-Year-Old Son's Penis In Shenzhen, China

WARNING: The following story includes disturbing content and may not be suitable for children. Doctors in Shenzhen, China have reattached a 6-year-old boy's penis after his father bit it off, the Shanghai Daily reports. According to the paper, witnesses said the 32-year-old father was walking with his naked son and 4-year-old daughter on the street Thursday when he commanded the boy to bite his penis. When the boy refused, the man attacked him. Horrified passersby subdued the man, forced him to spit out his son's penis, and called the police, China Buzz reports. The boy's reattachment surgery was successful, but it is too early to tell whether he will have normal use of the appendage. The Shanghai Daily reports that relatives will care for the boy's sister. Cops say the father is likely to have a mental illness -- he was recently seen pretending to strangle his son on their balcony, according to witnesses. Police also found that the man, who was only identified by the surname Yu, was severely in debt after a failed business venture and was often seen gambling. This isn't the first horrific story involving penis mutilation in recent months. Last year, 53-year-old Arun Sandhukha died after rats bit off his penis at a hospital in India. According to Asia Age, he was found in a pool of blood by his family, who had come to visit him. "No nurse was found at the scene and he was writhing in pain. His penis had been nibbled by rats," Sandhukha relative told the paper.

Three year old East Ruimveldt Toddler killed by speeding vehicle.

A three year old boy was Thursday struck down by a speeding car on East Ruimveldt Front Road, Georgetown. Dead is Carlyle Moe of 49 East Ruimveldt. Eyewitnesses said the boy was running across the road while the car was speeding. The driver of the car, Marlon Humphrey of Humphrey’s Bakery, Charlestown, Georgetown allegedly left the scene. Family members say Humphrey has since submitted himself to the Ruimveldt Police Station. Demerarawaves

Phagwah Day- Thursday- fun and frolic claimed at least one reported life when a man, who objected to being wet, stabbed another man dead in Georgetown. Eyewitnesses said Abdul ‘Love’ Ghani,42, of Good Hope, East Coast Demera was fatally stabbed when he attempted to intervene in a Phagwah-related fracas. The incident occurred near a construction site on Carmichael Street, next to Scotia Bank. Eyewitnesses said the suspected killer began stoning children who had attempted to wet him. After he objected, two workmen interrupted, saying that if he did not want the children to wet him, they would have done so. The police force force's version of the incident that occcured around 11:45 AM differed slightly. "Investigations revealed that the suspect was walking along Carmichael Street when some children, who were playing Phagwah, threw water and abeer on him. The suspect became annoyed and began to verbally abuse the children. "Ghani who was working on a house nearby rebuked the suspect for abusing the children, whereupon the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed him to his chest," said police spokesman, Ivelaw Whittaker. The alleged assailant was arrested and taken to a nearby police station. An eyewitness said the incident could have been possibly avoided if a police patrol had moments earlier heeded the call for help and intervened. Miriah Cobbs, 4-Year-Old, Dies After Found Hanging In A Closet

The Los Angeles Police Department's Abused Child Unit is investigating the hanging death of a 4-year-old girl in Westchester, Calif. While the LAPD does not believe foul play was involved, Officer Cleon Joseph explained that the child abuse unit investigates all unexplained deaths involving children under the age of 11. In this case, the incident has been deemed a "death investigation" as opposed to a "homicide investigation." A call to the Los Angeles County coroner's office confirmed that an autopsy won't be completed until Saturday or Sunday. The girl's name was Miriah Cobbs, and she was found hanging in her closet on Wednesday at around 11:30 a.m. Members of her family had assumed she was playing in another part of the house, but started looking for her when they stopped hearing noises. When her family members found her in the closet, someone immediately called the police and administered CPR with the help of a 911 operator until the ambulance arrived, KTLA reports. Cobb was taken to the Centinela Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. One neighbor, Del Evano, said he heard the family members wailing and crying, ABC 7reports. "I saw a gentleman come out crying, with his face pretty much white without blood," Evano said. "And then I saw the body." The police told the Los Angeles Times that they believe the child was playing unsupervised for a brief moment and accidentally choked herself by hanging in the closet.
